Linking other Access Tables

Is there a way to setup linking to other access tables with only a read only
link vs having admin rights? The reason I ask is I wish to modify the
orginal database but can not because someone is linked to my database with
exclusive rights via a linked table.

Thank you in advance for any direction.

you should use an ACCESS DATA PROJECT

you dont have to deal with this kinda crap with a real backend
