linking Excel to Access

When I try to link an Excel spreadsheet to my Access database I get the error
message "The wizard is unable to access information in the file....Please
check that it exists and is in the correct fomat". The file exists... There
are macros in the Excel spreadsheet, could this be causing the problem?

I also had the same problem when trying to import an xls file that was
downloaded/created by a web application in our shop.

It was working, then they changed (upgraded) the website, and I could
not get into the xls file anymore.

I had to do basically the same things that the article suggested. I
used automation from within Access to open the xls file with acess and
then was very careful in HOW the file was saved. It took a couple of
iterations until I finally got the right parameter value to get it
saved so I could then import it.

Good luck.

Thanks gentlemen...
I got it to link, now I have another problem. It is setup as a read only
file and I'm unable to run any queries that are related to it. I think I may
be in over my head here.
