linking data in subform to main form

I'm having a blank moment here, after a day of designing a new database i
nAccess 2003....

I have my main table of members details, and corresponding main form.
I then created a registration table for an upcoming conference that will
involve some members and its corresponding form that is a popup subform from
the main form using a button.
How do I get the conference table to automatically include the id number
(relationship link) and the name from the main membership table when the
subform is popped up and information is entered. That way the subform will
show up these items and they are saved with the new record on the conference
table for future reference.

I've done this before, but can't see how when I've gone back to other
databases.
HELP!!

I can see the Link Child Fields and Link Master Fields under the properties
tab in the table, but I don't know what to put in there, there isn't a drop
down or build.
I don't remember doing this and I've had this type of link working in the
past.
Any suggestions would be great
