Linked table column type changes from text to memo

I have to link to many tables via ODBC. All goes well except if a table has a
text column of length 255 characters. In that case ACCESS converts the table
column type to "memo" instead of text and the queries fail to compare a memo
to a text field.

My colleagues do not have this problem even if we all use same version of
ACCESS 2007. Something in my environment is wrong.

Any ideas?

I figured it out. One needs to change the setting of the DSN name of the ODBC
driver. Change the max var char to 255.

Good. Now I can hold on to my job and don't have to go back to sailing.
