I have IE6.0.2800 on XP. Recently, clicking on some
links opening a new window appear to try to open and then
immediately close before any content is displayed. I
*think* that the common element is that the links end
with "...asp".

I see no other diagnostics, although occasionally other
windows close for no apparent reason too.

Is there an activity log that I can look at to see what
is going on?

I have a similar problem: I remember some time ago finding
some pop-up blocking settings as part of an application,
which I think was independant of Internet Explorer. However
I afterwards I stopped using IE. However, I need to use IE
for a particular website. The page I requires appears in a
new window, which disapears (fades out, which I remember
from the settings) soon after it is opened. Now I can't
find the application that I used to set the settings. Could
be possible that I removed, yet the settings remained?

One solution might be to completely remove IE. Is this
possible?

I have version 6.0.2800 with service pack 1
