link to works db

I use a word template to write letters, and i have a works db with adresses
etc.

I can do a mail merge for a mailing, that is no problem.

But how can I easily select 1 adres from the works db in my letter?
I do not want to use a query in the mail merge, i think that takes much
time, but more important, my automatic reference number dissapears when
using the mail merge.

You can't. Word has no functionality to support picking up addresses for
letters, except from Outlook (not Express). Or, you'd need to program a macro
expressly for this purpose.
