Hi,
i have a simple database as a catalog of discs. If i have disk 1 of 2 and 2
of 2 is there a way i can link the records so that a selection will indicate
a link of these 2 records?

TIA
Cheers Len

You could essentially build a linked list by putting a foreign key in the
record. Have the first record point to the second record, the second record
point to the third record, and so on. The last record would have Null in
that field.

In terms of relationships, you'd join the table to itself.

I would tend to record sets in the main table with sets of 1 or 2 or
however many in the sets table. Then a second related table for the disks
in the set.

The best way would depend on exactly what information you are recording
and what and how you may want to extract it. If these are music albums,
then you would likely also want to have a list of each recording on each
disk (likely a third table) and recording artist (another table) etc.

I believe, if you look you will find a number of templates you might
want to look at to use or to get ideas from.
