Link Outlook in an Access Database

I imported records from a Table in an Access Database into a Contacts Folder
in Outlook.
This imported an ID number into the Government ID field in Outlook.
When I create a linked table in Access for the Outlook Contacts, I cannot get
the ID number to show in the linked table. I need the ID Number to be in the
Linked Table with the Number format in order to query the Linked Table and
the Original Access Table. I have checked all the fields that are imported
into the Access Table. All these fields are either Text Format or Yes/No.
Unfortunately, the Government ID number is not one of the fields. I am not a
programer. Sue Mosher responded that there is no way except to change the
program. I had to re-post as as I had checked that the question was answered.

There must be an easy way to create just 1 Numbered field when the link is
created.

No, there isn't an easy way to do that. As I explained earlier, controlling what fields are included in a linked table is a complex process that is not very well documented. I have never been able to succeed, even following the instructions in the two articles that explained how to do it.

Thanks for the clarification. Please ask Microsoft to look at including a
numbered field, if you have not already done so. By the way, I am using
Outlook 2002(XP). Is Outlook 2007 any better.

I don't know of any changes in that feature. It is used very little, judging by questions posted here and elsewhere. I would not expect any changes any time soon. It's certainly not on my top 10 list of things to address. If you have a retail version of Office/Outlook 2007, you might want to file a support incident on this issue. This is the best way to let Microsoft know that there's a problem with the application. Unlimited support for Office/Outlook 2007 is free for the first 90 days after activation. See http://support.microsoft.com/gp/vista_supoffnew for more information on this support policy.

Thanks again Sue.
Is there a program available to make the linked table more workable. The
Numbered ID field is the Link. Without that- the records in the Outlook file
cannot be guaranteed to match the records in the Access Table.
