Link Lanscaped Excel spreadsheet w 14 columns into a word document

I have a word document where I am trying to Link a landscape Excel
spreadsheet into a word document. (Note: these copy ranges print out fine
in Excel using the fit to one page width specification.) I want to be able
to change Excel and have the word document change with Excel changes.
Problem is that I can't get the whole document into the word document. It
cuts off some columns and no matter what you do for formatting, it won't
bring in those columns.

I shade the area in Excel. Go to Word and click "paste special", choose
"Excel worksheet object" and click on "paste link" and click "OK". The
spreadsheet does show up but not all of it. No matter what I change in
"Format Options" - Size, it will not bring in the other columens.

Would greatly appreciate your help. We have no problem with bringing in
small spreadsheets, but when they get to be wide (like landscape
spreadsheets), we begin having the problem with not all of the copy range
being brought in.

Hi Barbie,

It's not entirely clear from your post whether the pasted object is missing
some columns, or there are just too many to display on the available page
width.

If it's the former, you may need to narrow the column widths in Excel.
Alternatively, try pasting the copied area as a 'picture'. If it's the
latter, try changing to a landscape format in Word, or using
Format|Object|Size to scale it down to fit.

Cheers

Macropod, thanks for the input. I figured out that if I do the following I
can get it all into a word document and, most importantly, it is still linked
to Excel so that if changes are made to Excel, the Word object is changed
also. 1) Change to landscape in Word and change margins. 2) change the
paste as to "bitmap" and choose "link object", and then 3) in format object,
Unchoose "lock aspect ratio" and move the size of the object to within the
width and length of the paper.

Your response helped me to figure this out. Thanks so much for responding!!!!
