When I open a workbook and am promted to update links, I
have three files that I get a "file not found" message
with a directory of new files to choose from (for changing
my source). I've tried deleting worksheets, deleting data
and still am unable to resolve. I've tabbed through the
cells to locate the link and used the find function. I
use Excel 2000 and cannot find the "cell" that has the
invalid link. Does anyone have a suggestion for find it?
thanks,
walter

Hi,
What has generally worked for me is Edit > Links > Change Source and
change the link to the actual file name that you are using, if not, this
link to Bill Manville's excellent utility will certainly do the trick,

Great web-site. There was a "flexfind" download that
located my troubled link. This created a new challenge.
The cell source is a cell name that doesn't exist in my
worksheet and the link is to a file in the temporary
internet folder which contains no files. There are four
occuarances that I'm struggling to delete. Any
suggestions?
Thanks in advance, Walter

Try Bill Manville's addin FINDLINK instead - same site. This is the addin you were directed to
initially.
