Link cells and keep formatting?

Is there any way to link a group of cells from one worksheet to another and
keep the formatting? I can get things to link, but blank cells turn into Os
and any cell color or merging cells is lost.

Excel relies on using paste/special/format to bring over the formats and the
link to bring over the value.

You have to explicitly test for blank in the source to match it in the link.
