limit record on a subform

how can i limit a certain number of records on my subform

Are you the same person who's posted as sobeit from Accessmonster? If so,
you're getting answered already. Posting again won't get a different or better
answer I fear.

If you're not, use Google Groups (http://groups.google.com) or the Microsoft
webpage or Accessmonster.com to search microsoft.public.access.forms for a
thread entitled "Limit record on continuous subform".

i've read the other thread, mccoy. it's not that John is a super smart guy
(though he is, in fact, very smart and very knowledgable about Access, and
has been helping many people in these newsgroups for years), or that he gave
answers that could only be understood by somebody who is super smart. from
reading the other thread, and this one, it appears to me that you want help
but aren't willing to do any of the legwork yourself. you could have read up
on the If statement in VBA Help, then John wouldn't have had to explain the
function and its' arguments to you. you could have said that you don't
understand what a SQL WHERE clause is, or what primary and foreign key
fields are, and how they work in joined tables; John or someone else could
have explained them, or directed you toward resources that would help you
expand your knowledge of Access to the point where you could understand the
instructions you were given.

Access is not a plug-n-play tool. It's a complex tool that gives ordinary
people like you and me the means to create very powerful and flexible
applications, IF we're willing to invest the time and do the work.

I apologise for being too sketchy with my answer. My biggest problem answering
in a comprehensible way is that you have chosen not to answer my questions
asking for an explanation of your table structure and your form. I will gladly
give you step by step, specific instructions for how to do this if you will
kindly do so!

What is the name of the table upon which your mainform is based?
What is the Primary Key of that table?
What is the name of the table upon which the subform is based? (MONITORING I
think you said)?
What field in MONITORING is the foreign key to the main table?
Is there a textbox or other control on the subform bound to this field? If so
what is its name?
