Limit logon access to the XP pro workstation on domain

We have couple desktops (XP pro with SP3) on a domain that we like to
restrict the user’s logon access, we like to give only couple users right to
login to these workstations. Is there any way beside group policy?

Thanks

Yes - you could remove Domain Users from the local Users group and add only
the users in question.

That said, I guess don't know why you'd want to do this - on a domain I
think it's good to keep everything on the workstations identical so users
can log in anywhere - and no data should be stored on workstations.

Lanwench,
Thanks for the reply. For security reasons we like to limit the user’s
access. The solution you provided should fulfill the request.

Thanks,

Sure. But note that since there should be no business data stored on a
workstation, there is no security issue here - data on the *servers* is
secured. Plus, it's very difficult to say that a workstation can be
"secured" ... anyone with physical access can pretty much do whatever they
want, unless you've got it locked up.

The Domain administrator can easily specify, within Active Directory,
which specific machines any specific user can log on to. Consult your
domain administrator.
