Licensing and DRM

I am ripping 200+ music CDs, some old, some new, on an older PC (using WMP10
on XP). I want to move the wma and/or MP3 files to my Media Center PC,
playing them thru my Media Center Extender. Also, some will go to my Windows
Mobile PDA to play, some will go to my notebook. What do I need to know about
DRM and licensing? What COTS will rip without DRM?

If you are ripping your CDs, then you don't have to worry about DRM.

True answer if I play them on the PC where I rip them; but I have 4 PCs and
need to move the files to my media player PC. For some reason, when I try to
move the licenses from the original PC to the Media Center PC, WMP tires to
access an internet site and cannot connect, thus stops loading the licenses.
Thanks,

If you are ripping your CDs, then you don't have to worry about DRM.

If you must use WMP, then turn off the licensing option. There is no reason for
you to protect your files unless they are original music that you plan on
distributing. Any non-protected music file will play on any PC that supports
that file type.
