License Service Errors

We have a domain controller that is the only server in its domain. This
domain started out on a different server as a Win NT4 SP6 domain and was
upgraded in-place on the same server. Last December we added a new server
to the domain (our current one) as a DC by building the new server as a
Win2k machine in the domain as a DC. Once the build was completed we then
removed the old DC and shut it down, making the new one the only DC in the
domain. Since we have added this server, we have had a number of kerberos
errors and other "funny" errors that we can't seem to trace. The latest
errors we have been getting is License Service errors stating that our
licenses of SMB Server 5.0 and IIS 5.0. We have sufficient licenses for the
users on the domain for the server and for SQL. (This server is running an
intranet application which has IIS as the front end to a MS SQL 2k server
back end.) The text from the error log of 2 representative errors is:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: LicenseService
Event Category: None
Event ID: 201
Date: 2/25/2004
Time: 8:31:16 AM
User: N/A
Computer: NITSSCOATS
Description:
No license was available for user NITSS\GKUENNEKE using product SMBServer
5.0.

Can anyone tell me what is going on here and how to fix it?

TIA

Disable the license logging service. Its only function is to help you track licenses, it isn't needed. You know you are in compliance as far as licensing. so no worries there. You'll get the same answer if you call MS support.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, we tried that and it apparently
caused our Crystal Reports server to lose it's license key. This caused
major problems because our users normally access CR only via the web, and
when someone tried to vew a report CR tried to pop up the MSI dialog to
reinstall the license, halting IIS. Do you have any other thoughts?

Thanks,
