LG DVD + RW

Currently using XP Pro latest SP2 etc...
I have an LG 4081B DVD+RW burner (Super multi what ever that is)
The system came with B's clip and Gold Recorder 7 installed, I removed them
and put nero demo in and it gave me a write burn error. So I down loaded
their clean removal program. Tried cdburnerXP 3 pro (freeware) same thing it
begins to burn the dvd lead in then has a write error!!
Oh Yeah, I can copy fine with DVD X Copy.
The drive reads fine...
Where to go from here?

Sounds like something a firmware (driver) update would fix.

A check on LG's (horrendously difficult to navigate website) indicates the
latest firmware (driver) for your burner is version A104. To check which
version you have, in Windows Explorer right click on the drive, select
properties then select the settings tab.

If you need to update, you'll have to find the driver on LG's website. It's
there, but it will take you a while to find it I'm sure. Linking doesn't work
with that site (it's a horrible site) so I can't provide you with a link.

If you do need to update, you must follow LG's instructions EXACTLY, or
you'll toast your drive.

I tried the firm ware update, reset the pc, but without any results.

Appreciate the thought, any other ideas
