my LG DVD writer device status says:
Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration
information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

Pls advice what went wrong??

Go to Control Panel->System Properties->Hardware Tab->Device Manager button.
Expand the CD/DVD section, select your device and click the Uninstall
button. Then reboot and let Plug n Play pick up the drive again.

A possible cause is there are references to some inappropriate driver
type files around in the registry, maybe associated with disk burning.
To tidy up, get a registry patch file, cdgone.reg, from
www.aumha.org/downloads/cdgone.zip, extract it, r-click on it and merge
it into the registry

You will then need to reinstall any burning software that you *do* use,
making sure it is a properly XP compatible version.
