I have a lexmark X73 all in one printer. I also have Windows XP Home. When
I try to install the scanner when I am almost done it becomes a blue screen
and wants to do a memory dump. If I install it in Safe Mode it works but
when I restart it loads and right after it loads it flashes a blue screen and
then I have to use the tool Last Known Good Configuration which causes it to
disapear and want to install it again. The printer part is installed but
that is it. Please Help me. I really need to use the scanner for some
pictures for a friend.
Thanks,
Brandon

Go to Control Panel, System, Advanced, Startup and Recovery. Uncheck the automatically restart box. The post the exact details of the BSOD error.

Here is the stop code:
0x0000007E (0x0000005, 0xb3382038, 0xb635ca8c, 0xb63c78c)
After the stop code it said this:
Lxarscan.sys- Address b3382038 base at b3380000, DateStamp 3b1b6700
Thanks,
Brandon

Brandon did you ever get your Lexmark X73 to scan photos correctly? The
reason I am asking this is that I have the opportunity to purchase the same
model at a fairly low price, and I want to use it to scan all my old photos
so I can save them on my computer, burn a disc or two and always have these
photos in a safe place.
