hi everyone im new here...i have a lexmark Z65 and i just bought a new
black ink cartrige (yes the tape is off and it is in correctly) and it
wont print out black only color but sometimes it will print a little
bit of black ink. Recently I would refill the old black cartridge about
3 times a month but the printer stopped printing in black with that
cartridge, now it wont print black out on a completely new lexmark
black cartridge. the thing is that it still prints color with the same
color cartridge i refill all the time. Does anyone know the solution
to this problem?
thanks alot

If it's new, call Lexmark. I had a bad color cartridge, which turned out
to be something I'd stockpiled during a sale, and it had clogged up, even
new, because it was over a year old. They ran me through wetting a paper
towel and blotting (not wiping, except in the direction of printing) which
might get it started, and then replaced it.

Try the damp paper towel thing first, to see if you get a stain of ink,
which at least indicates the cartridge is passing ink through the jets.

Ive got the same problem only with the color cartridge, third one won't
print and it shows ink on a paper towel. I was about to bin the printer.
