Lexmark X83 cartridge holders slamming side of case

This printer ran out of ink. Replaced cartridges and it started
slamming the left side (looking at front) so hard it is jarring the
color cartridge (that side) out of it's holder. I have no idea
what to check.

Dryness of any joints or usually chromed guide rails that the prontheads fly
on. A lint cloth and silica is best.
