Lexmark X74-X75 All In One

I can't get windows to recoginize the printer part of my all in one. It recoginizes the scanner and the fax but not the printer. It will print but it keeps tell me that there is new hardware (the printer). When I go through the steps of installing the print drivers it tells me that the port is unknown and that an error has occurred. Even though I can go into word or excel and print documents. It's not that the printer doesn't work, it's just the new hardware message keeps coming up over and over. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software several time and rebooting but nothing seems to help. Does anyone have any ideas how to make the Hardware message go away and stay away?

It's a Lexmark. Follow the instructions at Bruce Sanderson's website to
COMPLETELY uninstall all traces of the previous installation.

After cleanup, reboot.

Download a new set of drivers from www.lexmark.com. Install the software.
Do NOT reconnect the printer until the software tells you to do so.
