I hae found that you can install the drivers to a server SOMETIMES. Not
always. Was able to do this with a Lexmark before. but had problems doing
this with a Canon, if it does not work with installing the software, try to
map it. that works 10 out of 10 times, if you can find the proper driver
that will work w/ it ;-)
Installing 3th party printer drivers on a Terminal Server is *not*
the way to go! It is the fastest way to make your server unstable
and can cause your spooler or server to crash.
I would *not* do this.
I also misunderstood and thought I should share my local printer on the
laptop and then try and connect to it in the TS session... that worked
except it said a policy was preventing it from being added. But it can see
it...
So now I'm really confused and still without the use of my Lexmark Z25-Z35
printer.
What do you mean with "Perhaps it because I have the printers and
the TS server locked down"?
Any events in the EventLog on the TS when you connect?
Yes, once you have mapped the local printer to a native driver, it
should be autocreated.
