Lexmark cartridge life

Just to clarify for those not familiar, the Canon and HP models you
speak of have separate head and ink cartridges, both available as
separate replaceable items. From what I was told by retailers selling
the HP units, the heads usually lasted about 8-10 cartridges before
requiring replacement. The heads cost about twice the cost of those ink
cartridges, as I recall.

Canon developed a much longer lasting thermal head, again separate to
the ink cartridge.

As to Epson, the problem is that in theory, their heads should last for
many years of use, so I guess they consider making them removable and
replaceable a major and costly design change. Also, the heads require
voltage calibration per nozzles group, which is normally a factory
setting requiring special software. It's not that it could not be done,
it would probably be quite costly a revamp of designing and engineering
with only small potential financial gain for them.

Not true. It has been stated a few posts back that a user is on their 15th
refill with aftermarket ink.

Then shut up about it, you 2 faced shithead.

Meashershithead is most likely an old, fat, lying moron. He has no life
other than this non-moderated ng. He's been barred from at least a dozen
other ng's for his stupid behavior.
He is probably mentally deranged, drunk, on drugs or any combination of
the three.
I have never seen an intelligible response from his lying mouth. He gets
very childish when confronted and cornered by his lies.
Kill file his stuck-on-stupid ass and be done with him.
He is an excellent example of a real loser.

You once stated that no evidence of one printer doing well on aftermarket
ink was illustrative, that you needed >10 printers to get a good sample.
It seems you are the idiot since you have no data. Just one stinkjet.

I have a similar problem with a lexmark brand #20 color cartridge. It
stop printing right after I replaced the black #70 cartridge. The
control panel on my x83 printer did not seem to recognize there was a
half full color cartridge in the the printer. It is 1/2+ full and the
ink seems to flow freely. I replaced it with a new lemark brand #20
which was recognized by the printer and worked perfectly.

Any input on solving this problem would be appreciated. This is maybe
the third time this has happened. Thx

I don't have a good response, other than Lexmark drivers and firmware
can be weird at the best of times. I do however, suggest you contact
Lexmark's Inkjet division and let them know about this. I would also
ask for replacements for the ones that stopped working.

REPLACE THE PRINTER. LEXMARK IS TRASH AND NOT WORTH EVEN WRITING
ABOUT. THAT IS WHY THEY ARE GIVEN AWAY FOR FREE.
