Thought someone might be interested in this, save them wasting money like me...

Lexar Professional CF cards are displayed as "Removable Disks", as as such
are a bugger to work with.

However...

Fuji Ultra-fast CF cards are automaticaaly configured as fixed disks.

Matt.

Lex has been in the game for some time, and with a little digging, you
should be able to find a utility to convert it to Fixed disk.

I just installed a Lexar compact flash card in a machine. I had to format it
with partition magic and set it as the active (and C:) drive.

Boots XPe just fine now...

DO you mean Fuji High-Performance with "ultrafast"?

Because i've got a Fuji High-Performance and it doesn't act like i want to...

Does anyone know how to find out wheter its a "fixed one" or not?

Thanks

Try creating more than one partition on the card. If you can do that - it is
fixed.
