Less clear text

It seems like ALL text on my screen (Desktop, internet, docs, etc.) is not as
clear as it used to be. And very occasionally I seem to get a rare flash of
clear text. My resolution is 1024x768. My monitor (CTX PR960F) manual doesn't
say anything about a native resolution. Do screens deteriorate over time?
MIne is about 2 1/2 years old. Thanks.

Yes, but first check the refresh rate (Display Properties/Settings/
Advanced/Monitor) and make sure it's not running at too high a
rate (e.g. 75 Hz is ok).
