Legal signature on behalf of another party?

I work in a "virtual office" situation and sometimes need to send legal
contracts out on behalf of my boss, who is not available to sign them. What
is the correct and legal manner in which to do this?
 
I would ask your boss or your boss's lawyer.

Generally speaking you can use /S/ followed by your initials, but I concur
that you should ask whomever your doing this for how they would like you to
handle it.

Thanks. I finally decided to sign his name followed with the word "by" and
my initials. I do have his permission to sign for him, obviously, and I
wasn't able to contact him and then contact his lawyer for advice. I didn't
think he would appreciate paying a lawyer's hourly rate for a one minute
piece of advice either. I apprecieate your input, Carol.
