Leave an Outlook Note open after closing Outlook

Is there a way to leave an Outlook 2002 note open after closing Outlook?I
have read in Office XP bible that you can, but it doesn't seem to work for
me. If not can anyone suggest another method of leaving "post It" notes on my
desktop (preferably free) I am aware that there are programs for this, any
specicific suggestions?
 
No - if the note is open, outlook is too. Use 3M post it notes -they have a
free version.
