LCD tv monitor out of range problem(s)

problems:

my LCD tv monitor goes blank and displays 'out of range' after I changed the
resolution to 1920 x 1080. Is there any other solutions beside doing the
repair setups for a multiple of times? Besides. my lcd TV takes 1920 x 1080
for PC resolution at maximum output. Yet there is no update for Intel graphic
drivers at this time.

The computer handles 1920 X 1080 perfectly last couple of weeks ago. It goes
strange all of a sudden.



I read about GUI tools on the net but don't understand how it could be done.
Should I download it somewhere? how could I try out different resolutions
without all the hassles? I reinstalled my system in repair mode out of the
unexpectedness of resolution mishandle.

Since you say your video card will do that resolution - I have to ask at
what refresh rate are you pushing that resolution? 60?

The fact that the LCD TV says "out of range", tells you there
is some signal coming out of the PC, but it isn't a signal
which the TV expects.

The resolution, you say, is 1920x1080. The refresh rate also has
to be set. Check that the refresh rate is something the TV
can handle, and the refresh is not a value inherited from
your regular computer monitor or screen.

The signal to the monitor has to be correct in both resolution and refresh
rate for a picture to be displayed. Once you have selected a resolution
that it out of range, there is a way of recovering the situation. On
selecting the invalid resolution, the video should revert to the last
working resolution and refresh after 15 seconds, unless you press the enter
key.

However, If you are still out of range proceed as follows.

Boot the PC and press F10 repeatedly until the boot menu appears and select
Safe Mode. Select the 'Administrator' account (the password is blank unless
you have set one).

Once the system has booted up, the video should be in VGA mode. This is a
mode supported by every graphic card and every monitor. Right click on the
desktop and select 'Properties' and then the 'Settings' tab. You will
notice that the 'Apply' button is not greyed out as it normally would be
(the function of 'Apply and 'OK' are different to normal). Click the
'Apply' button and then the 'OK' button (If you just click 'OK', you will do
nothing and end up back where you started). Now restart the PC and boot
normally into whatever account you normally use. The video will be in VGA
mode. You can now right click the desktop and select 'Properties' and then
the 'Setings' tab and select a video resolution and refresh to suit your
monitor. Depending on your graphics system and settings, you may have to
reboot between selections. You will have to rearrange your icons unless you
use something like ICONRestore.
