LCD display is acting funky

I have a Dell 1900FP LCD and the display is very dark in the upper
right side, almost completely black and in the lower left you can still
see but it is dim. Now at first I thought the backlight was out but
the behavior of the graphics you can still see leads me to think its
more. The windows as they are drawn are very slow, if you move the
mouse and hit start there is a huge delay from when you perform the
action to when it shows on the display.

I am thinking it is more than just the backlight but wanted to see if
anyone else has a theory.

Thanks,
Steve

The dark areas on the display DO sound like a backlight
problem (or something wrong in the panel itself, possibly
through mechanical damage), but the speed of the graphics,
drawing windows, etc., has nothing at all to do with the
monitor. It can't possibly affect that.

Well it is not the video card becuase the problem follows the monitor.
I think it is slow to light pixels and the delay is coming from the
fact that the monitor takes a second or 2 to warm up or luminate when
there is activity.

It certianly is odd.
