(LavaSoft's AdWare6.0 and McAfee still needed) vs. MS-Spyware

I'm on the 2nd round of the 6mo. MS-SpyWare Beta.
Anyone will tell you 'free' is good, but however far your
penny pinching tendencies go you'll have to
admit 'working' is better.
I really like MS-Anit-SpyWare. However, after visiting
two Trojan websites, I'm no longer convinced.
This weekend and (3) weekends ago I went searching. The
first search was on Google for sheet music. The second
was on Google for an out of print magazine.
Both times my MS-IE browser was hijacked. MS-SpyWare
quickly said it blocked the attack and scanned them away.
NOT TRUE. Programs residing in the computer will still
found by McAfee 9.0 Virus Scan (Norton won't catch them
either) and then the European Adware 6.0 by LavaSoft found
40 more data miners.
(Note: McAfee got pretty scummy there for a while in 1998-
2000 when they just started taking over your computer like
AOL. Today Norton does this. I guess when you are the
big guy, you don't have to care. Currently Norton hogs
memory, slows games and internet connection rates
tremendously, and the Internet Security product can't be
turned off....pop ups will destroy any attempts to have a
normal time on the Internet. Next, they won't let you
uninstall it...evil. McAfee caught the ICR bots that
Norton won't. My hero...)
So there's my point. I bought McAfee. It works. I'm
proud to say I own it. Everyone that knows me is sure I
got it on a rebate from Staples, but you know...I like
them too. I'll go back there.
Currently MS-Adware is like the Army trying to compete
with the US Marines. They want to be the first to fight,
but never have any back up plan, supplies, and the
training manuals can be written...to bad they don't have
to guts to stick with'em. :) Don't get me wrong. They
are good people, but if you want the job done right, we
all know you have to send in the Marines.
Should I buy McAfee Anti-SpyWare?

If you are running a version of McAfee that protects
against both virus and spyware programs, make certain
that only one antispyware application's real-time
protection feature is turned on. If you have both
running simultaneously they can, and LIKELY WILL,
conflict with one another. This WILL allow browser
hijacks, and even spyware/malware programs installing on
the system to be successful.

This is akin to only running one AV and one firewall
application at a time. Otherwise the tow or more
applications WILL conflict, allowing viruses to infect
your system and/or hack attempts on your system to be
successful.
