Launched PP from prog. dispaly on monitor 1. email PP files on #2

My system has 2 monitors -- Monitor #2 is usually NOT on. If I double click
on a PP attachment in an e-mail, it opens on monitor 2 (which is usually NOT
turned on). If I open the PP program on my computer and then select file and
open a file that is saved on my disk, it opens on monitor #1. Why? How can
I get all PPs to display on monitor #1? Thanks.

In PowerPoint go to Slide Show > Set Up Show and set the monitor to Primary
monitor. It seems to default to Secondary monitor on dual monitor systems
unless you set it to Primary.

When I tried this, the "Set Up SHow" was grayed out. I had to open a blank
presentation and then I saw what you were talking about. I saved the blank
presentation as a template, correcting it to monitor 2, but it still goes to
monitor 2 when I click on an e-mailed PP document or one I have saved on my
disk. Any other ideas?

Right click your Desktop and select Properties > Settings. Click on monitor 2
and then uncheck "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor". Does that help?

To make changes to an emailed presentation's settings you have to save it to
disk I think.

Thank you -- this is a good work-around (I just need to remember to return it
to "Extend my window . . ." when done). Thanks for reducing my stress level.

I'm curious. Why do you want to extend your desktop if you aren't using the
secondary monitor?
