Launch Excel cleans the clipboard

If I need to copy content from another program to Excel, I have to
launch Excel before doing the copying (Control-C) or the clipboard is
cleaned up after launching Excel.

Is there a way to change that behavior?

Thanks,

Clearning the clipboard isn't inherent Excel behavior. Excel basically
doesn't care what's on the clipboard when it opens, and whetever is
there can be pasted into Excel.
it sounds like you have an add-in or a start-up macro in your Excel
file (and/or personal.xls file) which may be causing the problem.

You're right. I tried the same copy and paste thing on another
computer, and it does not delete the content in clipboard. I don't
know what I installed to cause this problem. thanks for the
information.
