Laserjet 4000 Try 1 feed problem

I have a problem, with Tray 1 on my laserjet 4000. When I print something
the seperation pad raises, the roller tries to turn, but it doesnt seam to
have the power to turn. It tries again, and fails and reports a jam. If when
the roller tries to turn I give it soem assistance it works fine, but its a
nusance having to stand by the printer when printing from that tray.

Any advice on which parts need replacing much appreciated.
