Firstly go to
http://www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/8755/HP_LaserJet 1100A.html and
download the service manual. You need to replace the Separation pad. The manual
will explain how to do this.See also
http://articles.techrepublic.com.com/5100-1035_11-5030043.html# which explains
the issue well.
As well as the separation pad you should replace the feed roller and both of
the subpads.
One source of a kit that contains the parts is
http://www.printerworks.com/Catalogs/RollerKits/1100-RK_RollerKit.html but
there are several suppliers, this kit contains two items you don't really need
(face down roller and transfer roller), but the other four parts are
recommended. You may be able to source just the four parts elsewhere. Most kits
come with instructions, it is not a hard job.

Its pretty easy with stuff u might already have...
open up the backside of the printer so u can see the "L" where the
paper stands on (its in the middle and there is a brown roller above
it)
remove it and beaware of the spring(s)
glue stips of a rubberband on to it(start where the paper stands and
down to the edge, the rubberband should go the from the angle in the L
and forward into the printer to the edge of the L)
put the printer back togeather and it will work for a couple of years
before you have to redo this again...
I have done this operation on many HP printers(all models got the same
issue) and all of them still works and only takes one sheet of paper.
