laser pinter too loud

I have a sharp jx 9600 and when it prints, it is heaps loud, (cranking)

Get one of the older 'soundproof cases' used for daisy wheel printers -
they're about the same size. You may have to enlarge or add a vent for heat.
 
This may be a gear slipping, due to being too worn, or having become
loose. It could also be due to either scrap paper or excess toner built
up on a gear, or wrong tension on a belt that hold a gear system in place.
