LArge messages are received; but I can not see them

I have sent several messages to myself which include Large photos. I do not
receive an error message on the senders side. Windows mail makes the sound
that a new message is received and the progress shows I am receiving a new
message, but there is no message shown in my inbox. When I go to my service
providers Web-mail, I see the message. I have Windows mail set to remove
messages from incoming server, and sure enough they are. But I can not find
them in Windows mail.

Did you look in the Junk E-mail folder and the Deleted Items folder?

Gary, Thank you for the response.
Yes, I checked the Junk mail folder as well as the deleted items folder. I
thought maybe Norton was eating them; so I disabled my anti-virus and resent,
samw result. I see the mail online, I click send/receive, the message says
it's downloading, I get the new mail tone from Vista, the message is gone
on-line, but no message in my inbox.

Make sure every mail folder you look in has the "Show All Messages"
setting rather than "Hide Read Messages".
Other than that, I don't know what could be causing that issue.
If all else fails, you can try upgrading to Windows Live Mail:
