large font & margins in dialog boxes

Several different apps use wide margins and a large font
in some dialog boxes (within the content area, not the
title bar). As long as the dialog is sized to fit the
content, it's not a fatal problem. But the installer
(for example) has fixed-sized windows, so it crops the
content, making installation of new programs impossible.

Any suggestions on how to reset the font and margins?
Nothing I do in the accessiblity wizard has an effect.

Thanks

I'm having a similar problem. Did you discover the fix?

My suggestion would be in "Display Properties" (control panel) - you go to
the Appreance Tab, and reset to a default scheme. I would suggest "Windows
Standard".
