large file in windows\csc folder

One of my network clients, an XP pro, sp2 has a 1.4 GB file in the
windows\csc\d8 folder. All the other folders d1 - d7 their largest file is
around 5-10 MB. The modify date on the 1.4 GB file was back in Oct/2006, it
is also highly fragmented. The my docs folder on this client is synchronized
with a shared folder on our pdc.

Can I just delete that 1.4 GB file w/o any consequenses?

Thanks in adv.

Try just renaming it by adding OLD or something in front of it. Restart and
if no problems over say the next week, you can delete it. If problems show
up, rename it back. Had you given a filename, someone might have been able
to look it up for you.

Poprivet,

That is a good idea. I renamed it, logged off, and back on and didn't have
any problems synchronizing. That file has a name of just numbers like
63758239 with no extension, so I gave it an extension of .bak.
thanks for your input,
Will
