Large aicons

I recently relocated the Start Bar from the side of the screen to the
bottom. After doing that the small icons changed to Large Icons which makes
the task bar twice its normal height.. I went into properties and removed
the check for small icons, re-booted and
rechecked the box. I have deleted the icons and re-established them. I still
have Large Icons in the Task Bar. How can I change them back to small?

1. unlock taskbar
2. right click in the empty space on the quicklaunch
toolbar
2. Go to the "view" submenu
3. check "small icons"
