Laptop will not start?

Just had a call from my sister & her laptop will not boot up.
So far suggested the following:
Try another plug socket.
Take the battery out and try to start it.
Keep finger on start button etc.
Try another power lead.

Still dead, laptop is 2 years old.
Anything i have missed?

Any views?

Check fuse in plug is battery is knackered?

Does charge light illuminate on laptop?

Is it possible the computer just died?? I have a friend who's laptop died when it was only two years old.

Any lights come on where you plug in the charger?

What happens when you hit the power button? Do you hear any fans/disk drives spin up?

Take it the screen stays blank?

Maybe the transformer has died(?)
