It is probably overheating. Most laptops are not designed to play games. Of
course, this depends on the games you are playing. If they are little
java-based games like you find on Pogo, no problem. If you are trying to
play World of Warcraft on your laptop that's another issue.
If your laptop is designed to play games (and gaming laptops are quite
expensive), meets the system requirements of the games you are playing, and
used to play those same games without any problems, then the hardware is
starting to fail. It could be something as simple as a fan replacement.
