Laptop Screen PowerSaver Settings

I have a Dell laptop that delivers about half the
brightness to the screen when the system operates off
batteries. This is a great feature sometimes given that
it allows 4 or 5 hours use on a single battery. However,
there are times when seeing the screen is a real problem.
I'd like to be able to toggle back and forth at will
between reduced power and a bright screen.

Assuming this is a Windows function and not some BIOS
setting, how do I change the screen brightness for the
laptop when it's operating in battery mode?

I would suggest that you upgrade the BIOS as well as the
drivers for the "video". After doing so, inspect the
settings in the BIOS. Some may be reset during the BIOS
upgrade.

Also, suggest you check the Dell Support site. Try "Power
Options" in your search.
