Laptop really slow with wireless enable

Hi i have windows xp sp2 on a Inspiron 9300

When im on the network of the company, my laptop work ok

But as soon as i disable the network card to activate the wirelles network
card, my laptop is really slow to open any programs

Can someone help me please

Do you log off the network gracefully before going wireless. I have seen
where disconnecting from the network abruptly will cause a machine to become
sluggish until the processes, mapped drives and other network connections
are stopped. Try logging off the network gracefully, instead of just
disabling the LAN connection. Also wait uphill the LAN connection is
totally disabled before connecting wirelessly.
