Prior to using a docking station, I used 1280x1024 on the laptop. The monitor that I use when in the docking station supports this. When I undock, I need to pan left/right/up/down to see everything
When I right click/properties/settings tab, it shows 1280x1024. However, when I select Advanced/Displays, the max supported resolution for the Panel Attributes (laptop monitor) states 1024x768 is the max

Any ideas how I can change this back to 1280x1024 and eliminate this need to pan around to see everything
Thanks in advance

try opening the diplay properties and goto

Settings>Advanced>Monitor

and changing the monitor type

My only option is Default Monitor. The only thing I can
do with the default is update the driver, which I tried
but it didn't help.

try changing the monitor driver to one of the laptop/digital panel ones.

Display properties
Settings tab
Advanced button
Monitor tab
Properties button
Driver tab
Update driver button
Select "Display a list of known drivers etc ..."
Next button
Select "Show all hardware in this device class"
Move left pane slider to the top to show
(Standard Monitor types)
in the right hand pane select on of the digital panels or the super vga
ones with a resolution that you know your system can achieve.

Hope that helps
