laptop display problems

I closed my laptop up while it was running and now the screen has been
drastically reduced to about 1/2 the size with a black "picture frame border"
....how can I restore it to what it was?

lclose any open folder or web page.


Try right clicking the desk top, select properties, settings
slide the screen res to 800-600 and apply. then put it back to 1024-768 then
apply, then click advance, monitor. select the highest refresh rate your
laptop can do ....prob 75 hertz
apply, OK.

That should do the trick.
