Hi, I'm running win XP on a laptop and the display is so
faint, I can hardly make it out. It is fine before win XP
loads and when sent to the remote display it is also ok.
I have also booted under win 2000 (dual boot) and that
display is fine. The brightness adjustments don't seem to
be working, but they would not be able make up for this
almost black screen.

Thanks

Check if you have power management settings which make the laptop screen
go dim (to save battery power). Probably an application in the Control
Panel will have been installed by the laptop manufacturer.

I'd check the laptop maker's site for updated XP video driver.
