every time i turn the power on the laptop The system boots up i get the
message system config press f2 if i dont press anything i get message
partition does not exsist then it carrys on booting all i end up with is a
blue screen how can i restore this so it starts up like my pc

If you can enter the BIOS by pressing its entry key at startup, try setting
the CD drive as the first boot device and then try to boot the system from
your Windows installation CD if you have one.

If you have a Recovery CD, read the user manual that came with the laptop to
find out how to use it and if using it will destroy any data files you have
added. It should also tell you how to enter the BIOS if you don't know how to.

I hope you backup your files regularly if they are valuable.

Are you saying that if you do go into the bios and exit it that the system
will boot normally?

The press f2 for setup is normal. All Bioses can be access in some way. Your
desktop likely has a "quite" boot feature that does not display the message.
But make no mistake, even though you don't see it, your desktop does exactly
the same thing.

After the POST (power on self test) the computer then the computer chooses
the boot devices in order of precedant as configured in the BIOS.

Your specific errors lead me to say that you have a failed or failing hard
disk or corrupted startup files.

You say "every time i turn power on". Do you really mean everytime? Or
everytime recently? Has this system ever booted?
