Lap Top Shuts Down

My lap running Win XP SP1, just shuts down for no reason. No message is
displayed on the screen, it just turns itself off.

When i re-boot it start ok and the will shitdown again sometines within a
couple on mins soemtimes an hour or so later

Are you running on battery or AC power ?

Notebooks can get very hot. Most have only a small, single
exhaust fan. Locate the fan and verify that it is venting air. From your
description it doesn't sound like a Windows or 3rd party application
issue, but more a hardware problem.
Sometimes, it is the battery itself. You might remove the battery &
run it on AC for a while and see if the unit stays up and running.

Also, Notebooks are notorious for power adapter recalls. Make
sure that your unit has no outstanding recalls or service warnings
about power.
