PC shutting down periodically by iteself.

My pc has been shutting down by itself for about a week now. It isn't during
the same program, etc. function running when it happens. It does it a
different times. Sometimes it runs longer than other times before shutting
down. The screen will freexe for a couple of seconds then it just powers off.
It doensn't go throught the shut down sequence, it's like it just loses
power. Also, if I try and power it up right after, it will turn right off
again, I have to let it sit for a little bit. I get no errors or messages
before, during or after the shut down.

Check all the vents and fans to make sure they are running properly - it
sounds like a thermal issue based on your description.

Hi

Have a look in the Event Viewer for any 'Errors'. If any are found could
you please post the Event ID and Source?

Disable automatic restarting upon system-failure:
Control Panel --> System --> Advanced --> Startup and recovery --> [Settings
button] --> [uncheck] Automatically restart --> ok, ok, restart. Now if you
see a blue screen on next failure, try to write down what it says.

But Leythos is right, it sounds more like overheeting to me too. Can you try
to compare crush intervals in a cooler and a warmer room (it will most
likely crush faster in the warm place). Did you overclock any component?

If you have no experience with hardware, I strongly advice you to contact a
hardware proffesional. If you can open the case, check if any fan is working
properly. Always touch the metal case, before any inside component to
prevent static discharge and damage.

This is almost certainly a hardware issue, not a Windows one. There are
several possibiliites, but when you say "if I try and power it up right
after, it will turn right off again," that stongly indicates overheating as
the cause.

Make sure all of your fans are working and it would be a good idea to open
the case and blow out any accumulated dust with a spray can of air.

Almost surely a heating issue.
You have one or more of the following:
-- Fan not working.
-- Air vents blocked.
-- Too much load on the power supply if you've added things recently and
the problem started t hen.
-- Fan working but cabling blocking it from moving aira around.
-- cpu fan quit working.
-- Hot environment for the computer.
