i have windows xp home edition in spanish and i want to
change the core language to english.is this possible or
does it mean i have to have two versions of windows xp on
my machine.i do not want to have to buy professional and
the multilingual add on.

change the core language to english - what do u mean by
this. do u want all the menus and screens in english.
then you will have to purchase a new copy of win xp -
english version and install it.

if you want u can install support for multiple languages
and then switch to the appropriate langugae during
composing of documents with the help of IME (Input method
editors).

Reintall with preferred language.Remember keyboard is also a very vital
factor.

Each version of Windows XP is language specific. You cannot
change from one language version to another.

If you have a desktop computer, or a notebook computer that
will accept a second hard drive, you can install a second hard
drive and install the "Full English Version" of XP on it and end
up with a dual language boot configuration.

You can also purchase and use Partition Magic 8
(www.powerquest.com) to create a new partition
for installing the English version of Windows XP.

Sorry, but to get English, you need to buy and install an English
version.
